Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

:new:THE POSITIONS IN OUR GROUP FOR ADMINS AND GALLERY MODERATORS ARE NOW FILLED

Our group is currently looking for :

1. Admins/Task Force members.

If you want to be part of our Task Force team you must
meet all of the requirements below :

a) Understand our way of accepting submissions in our galleries
and be able to prove it by example.
b) Be able to vote at least every second day.
c) Have a positive attitude and be willing to help our group in every way possible.
d) Very good knowledge of English
e) Not a beginner in deviantART, proven artistic skills.
f) Ability to work in a group.
g) Experience in the area will be considered as a plus.

2. Gallery Moderators

If you want to be part of our Gallery Moderator team you must
meet all of the the requirements below :

a) Understand the way submissions are accepted in our galleries and where
everything goes
b) Be updated with the current deviantART categories
c) Be updated with all the deviantART copyright laws
d) Be a person of that we can trust
e) Have a positive attitude and be willing to help our group in every way possible.
f) Very good Knowledge of English
g) Not a beginner in deviantART
h) Experience in the area will be considered as a plus.

If you are interested please send us a note telling us about yourself and how you have every requirement covered depending on the position. You can aply for both, but you will be accepted only for what we consider you to be the best match.

lol :XD: nah, you would be great Natalie :)it's not that hard,trust me. Many of our admins made mistakes and didn't quite get how things worked when they beginned but right now everyone in our admin team knows how things work perfectly :) It's an adjustment thing because most groups in deviantART don't follow any certain way of accepting works in their galleries :D
